Become a PADI Pro!

Mactan Scuba University has everything you need to become a scuba instructor. Our “Guaranteed Pass” style program is in operation!
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) provides the skills and knowledge you need to train divers as a professional. Using PADI’s philosophy and methods, this course develops your instructional skills in diving.
Two Modules
The IDC is composed of two main parts. The first part is the Assistant Instructor (AI) course, and the second part is the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. It’s common to take both together, but you can also take them separately if your schedule or resources require.
AI Course
The AI course covers how to use the PADI educational system and materials, and how to teach students. Topics include dive theory, business and risk management, and issues in education and the environment.
OWSI Course
The OWSI course provides a comprehensive training program to help you guide student learning and progress. Topics include planning and conducting courses, effectively teaching PADI programs, and duties as a professional scuba instructor.

After IDC, Move on to the IE
Upon completing the IDC, candidates proceed to the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). This exam consists of theory tests, evaluations of teaching ability, in-water performance assessments, and more—putting into practice what you learned during the IDC. To date, 100% of MSU candidates have passed.
