Course Details
The PADI Rescue Diver course is a vital step in progressing from simply “protecting yourself” to becoming a diver who can also “protect others.” You will learn to anticipate a variety of potential problems underwater, practicing accident prevention, early detection of trouble, and appropriate response techniques. By experiencing scenarios such as assisting a tired diver, handling a panicked diver, and performing rescues both at the surface and underwater, you will greatly improve your confidence and responsiveness.
Prerequisites
16 years or olderYou must be 16 years or older on the first day of the course.
PADI Adventure Diver or higherYou must already hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher.
Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive completedThe Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive must already be completed.
EFR within the past 24 monthsEFR Primary & Secondary Care completed within the past 24 months.
If your EFR is not current, you can take EFR together with the Rescue Diver course.

Step 1eLearning / Home studyHome study through eLearning, completed by the day before the course starts. A PADI Rescue Diver eLearning account is included in the price.
Step 2DVD viewingRequired DVD viewing at the start of the first training day.
Step 3Self-rescue practiceReview and practice of self-rescue, the starting point for helping anyone else.
Step 4Rescue ExercisesPractical skills such as assisting a tired diver and handling a panicked diver, at the surface and underwater.
Step 5Rescue Scenarios 1 & 2Putting the exercises together in realistic scenarios, so you can act calmly when it matters.
Step 6CertificationPADI Rescue Diver certification once all requirements are met.

EFR + PADI Rescue Diver
EFR Primary & Secondary Care within the past 24 months is a prerequisite for this course. If your EFR is not current, take the two together — it is the most efficient way, and it comes with a discount.
₱25,000 per person / 3–4 Days
Solo Guest Fee applies only to the combo when one person joins.
For one person, a Solo Guest Fee of ₱2,500 is added once, so the combo total is ₱27,500. To join the EFR + PADI Rescue Diver combo, please contact us with your travel dates.
Before You Book — Important Notes
- Please do not schedule your arrival in Cebu on the same day as your training.
- Please do not schedule a flight on the final day of your course.
- Wait at least 18 hours (24 recommended) after diving before flying.
- Please complete the Rescue Diver eLearning by the day before the course starts.
- Weather and sea conditions may sometimes change the plan or prevent ocean training, so please plan your schedule with sufficient flexibility.
- PADI courses follow a performance-based system. The 2-day schedule is a standard guide, not a guarantee that the course will be completed within that time.
- All course materials must be purchased through MSU.
- In the event that the instructor determines you are not yet ready to complete the course within the scheduled number of days, and you also agree with this assessment, we will discuss the following options together and decide on the best course of action:
