Course Details
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is a popular next step after the Open Water Diver certification. It qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters, giving you access to a wider range of dive sites. In addition to the required Deep Dive and Navigation, you can choose three Adventure Dives—such as Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Rescue practice, or Fish Identification—allowing you to develop skills that match your personal interests. By gaining new experiences in the diverse waters of Cebu, you will expand the joy of diving and gain the confidence to embark on even greater adventures.

Step 5CertificationOnce all five Adventure Dives and their requirements are complete, you are certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.

This is a sample schedule, not a fixed one. The order of the Adventure Dives and how many of them fall on each day depend on the electives you choose, on the sea conditions and on how the course progresses. PADI courses follow a performance-based system, so the number of days required to complete the course cannot be guaranteed.

Before You Book — Important Notes
- Please do not schedule your arrival in Cebu on the same day as your training.
- Please do not schedule a flight on the final day of your course.
- Wait at least 18 hours (24 recommended) after diving before flying.
- Please arrive in Cebu at least one day before the course begins.
- After completing the course, allow at least one full day for sightseeing or rest to off-gas nitrogen before boarding a flight.
- PADI courses follow a performance-based system, so the number of days required to complete the course cannot be guaranteed.
- Weather and sea conditions may sometimes prevent ocean training, so please plan your schedule with sufficient flexibility.
- Ensure a minimum surface interval of 18 hours between your last dive and your flight.
- All course materials must be purchased through MSU.
- In the event that the instructor determines you are not yet ready to complete the course within the scheduled number of days, and you also agree with this assessment, we will discuss the following options together and decide on the best course of action:
